POSITION
Summary:
A member of the work team with cross-functional responsibilities provides support to assigned team assuring quality products are produced which meet the customer needs.
In support of production activities assures that standardized work is in place and followed.
Provides direction to assigned team(s), makes decisions on how to best utilize resources to achieve goals, and supports supervisors by providing input and regarding individual and team performance.
Facilitates work team success in areas of problem solving, issue resolution, continuous improvement and training to support achieving objectives.
Ensures that a safe work environment is maintained at all times.
Must be accessible to the production floor and be able to perform all the jobs on the assigned team to cover unplanned absences or relief.
The work pace is fast and the individual is expected to react to a variety of people and production related situations.
Flexibility, calmness, and an ability to perform under pressure is expected.
Overtime is required to include weekends.
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE Capable of learning and performing all team jobs.
Must support safety policies and practices that apply to assigned area.
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to effectively interact with people.
Must have demonstrated mechanical aptitude with the ability to learn basic PM and minor machine adjustment.
Must be self-motivated and have the ability to interpret data for corrective actions.
Demonstrated positive performance record.
Ability to make production rates and quality standards.
Able to operate/utilize all job-related equipment.
Equipment may include drivers, hand tools, computer.
Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
Maintains confidentiality and practices proper business etiquette while on the job.
Standing/walking for up to 8 hours at a time.
Following the rules of the Team Leader Expectations.
Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite Programs.
Has 50
Team Lead hours logged for shadowing.
Can successfully complete a SWA.
Knows the importance and application of uptime and attainment.
Has a score of 13 or better on their performance review.
Can effectively use conflict mediation and follow the proper escalation process when dealing with personal matters.
DUTIES:
Train and update assigned employees to operate production processes and equipment.
Trains employees in department and plant procedures.
Develops a rotation schedule and ensures it is followed.
May temporarily fill in for production operators.
Performs quality checks in assigned area.
This includes, but is not limited to, charting, visual audits, functional audits, interprets quality standards, and scrap audits.
Will use measuring and gauging devices to assure quality products are produced.
Ability to comprehend IPCS.
Calculates and collects data to insure quality of the product.
Monitors and records the efficiency, downtime and scrap on an hourly basis for the assigned area to assure that all tasks run to Takt time.
Accurately tracks and measures defects and performs a defect analysis.
Verifies attendance and recommends solutions for filling vacancies to Supervisor.
Provides first response to line problems.
Documents problems, resolves when possible and follows up with the appropriate resource groups to ensure problems are corrected.
Facilitates teams through the problem solving process, documents efforts using Fact-Based Problem Solving methodologies and identifies solutions that prevent recurrence.
Coaches and instructs team members to desired production performance using the job instruction methods.
Trains and oversees training of team members according to standardized work and job instruction methods.
Assists supervisors in maintaining team training records.
Develops job breakdown and standardized work processes with team.
Performs time studies of operations while developing and performing with the team work sequence, standardized work and takt time charting.
Works with team to assure build sequence follows documented standardize work.
Facilitates efficient meetings to foster continuous improvement in the assigned areas.
Verifies that proper part numbers and labels are used throughout assigned area.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
