Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and supervision to youth in a residential or community-based setting - Implement and follow individualized treatment plans for each youth - Assist with daily living activities, including meal preparation, hygiene routines, and recreational activities - Monitor and document behavior, progress, and incidents - Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement interventions - Utilize special education techniques to support the educational needs of youth - Provide guidance and support in conflict management and problem-solving skills - Serve as a mentor and positive role model for youth - Advocate for the well-being and rights of youth in the child welfare system Skills:
- Experience working with children, preferably in a childcare or educational setting - Knowledge of behavioral health principles and techniques - Strong conflict management and problem-solving skills - Ability to educate and engage youth in learning activities - Familiarity with child welfare policies and procedures - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Patience, empathy, and the ability to establish rapport with youth - Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team - Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment This position requires a background check and may require special certifications or training related to working with youth.
