General Summary of Duties:
To provide security services to all staff and visitors to assigned facility and monitor safety conditions for buildings; provide and implement crime prevention and safety programs.
Essential Functions and Other
Responsibilities:
Ensure prompt and courteous service is provided to all internal and external members/customers.
Conduct work in a safe and healthful manner.
Maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of credit union policies and procedures that are necessary for performing your job.
Perform as part of a team and assist other employees and other departments as needed.
Place documents that need to be shredded in the proper area for shredding.
Maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of credit union policies/procedures that are necessary for performing job duties, including but not limited to Negotiable Instrument Reference & Guidelines, BSA, and OFAC.
Maintain knowledge of and follow the established process for key control, security, and the secure all codes and procedures related to office security.
Open and close office by disarming and arming alarms, as established procedures require.
Hires, reviews, schedules, trains, and monitors the work of direct reports, conducts quarterly development meetings, allocates resources to meet operational needs within the department.
Maintain total working knowledge of department.
Complete necessary logs.
Manages the monitoring premises and ensure all entrances and exits are secure.
Guards against property damage, theft, fire, and illegal entry.
Deals with parking concerns and enforcement.
Manages and tracks the testing of alarm and surveillance systems to identify potential security or safety issues and to ensure operational effectiveness of all security and fire systems.
Ensures alarm systems are registered as necessary in the jurisdictions where Credit Union branches are located.
Assist vendors and alarm technicians as required.
Provide administrative and clerical support to the facility as required.
Manages the development and implementation of safety programs.
In partnership with HR, provide security and robbery training for employees.
As appropriate, manages and assists in the investigation of incidents, such as robbery, larceny, and vandalism at any Credit Union location and provide reports to management and law enforcement as requested.
Manages and coordinates quarterly site visits and security surveys at all SCU owned facilities.
Assists in the development, coordination and implementation of Security Procedures.
Communicates with staff about security concerns; responds to emergencies and acts as a liaison to the various police agencies in SCU markets.
Manage and develop the facilities evacuation plan should conditions warrant such action while maintaining order and safety of staff.
Attend industry and area conferences to maintain and improve the overall security of SCU facilities and operations.

Serves as assistant Security Officer; ensures adherence to all applicable security policies by office staff; and ensures security systems are always operational through regularly scheduled inspections and checklists.

Qualifications:
Education:
A four-year college degree or equivalent training.
Experience:
Three to five years of similar or related experience.
