Purchasing Manager

Purchasing Manager opportunity with a growing company in the Holly, MI area Purchasing Manager with experience purchasing equipment, tools, parts, materials, supplies, or services necessary for the operation of an establishment. Supply chain background needed along with vendor negotiation and supplier selection experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
o Assist with preparation of purchase orders, solicitation of bid proposals, and review of requisitions for goods and services.
o Interview vendors and visit suppliers' plants and distribution centers to examine and learn about products, services, and prices.
o Monitor and follow applicable laws and regulations.
o Attend meetings, trade shows, conferences, conventions, and seminars to network with people in other purchasing departments.
o Assist with research and evaluation of suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the supplier's reputation and history.
o Confer with staff, users, and vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services and determine corrective action.
o Maintain and review computerized or manual records of items purchased, costs, deliveries, product performance, and inventories.
o Assist with analysis of price proposals, financial reports, and other data and information to help determine reasonable prices.
o Review catalogs, industry periodicals, directories, trade journals, and Internet sites and consult with other department personnel to locate necessary goods and services.
o Purchase the highest quality merchandise at the lowest possible price and in correct amounts.
o Follow policies and procedures for bid proposals and procurement of goods and services.
o Train, or supervise purchasing clerks, buyers, and expediters.
o Study sales records and inventory levels of current stock to develop strategic purchasing programs that facilitate employee access to supplies.
o Review product specifications, maintaining a working technical knowledge of the goods or services to be purchased.
o Negotiate, renegotiate, and administer contracts with suppliers, vendors, and other representatives.
o Monitor shipments to ensure that goods come in on time and resolve problems related to undelivered goods.
o Assist with monitoring of changes affecting supply and demand, tracking market conditions, price trends, or futures markets.
o Other responsibilities as assigned. Must have a minimum of 5+ years experience as a Purchasing Manager.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
